* Application
Volumetric feeding of easy flowing powders, granules and other bulk
materials.
The feeder can be upgraded to a loss-in-weight feeder system at
any time. * Design
Single-shaft feeder with interchangeable feeding tools.
All parts in contact with the material being fed are stainless steel.
Feeding equipment is easy to dismantle.
Oil free, high efficiency drive system.
The horizontal agitator gently moves bulk material to the large
throat and then into the discharge screw. It is removable without
tools. The horizontal agitator speed totals 20% of the screw speed. * Controller: (see separate data sheet)
The K2-MV-S60 uses the microprocessor based DigiDrive DC closed
loop motor speed controller. The pulse width modulation features
of the DigiDrive controller allow the motor to run efficiently at
all speeds, increasing motor life and providing control accuracy
to within ? rpm.
The simple user friendly interface allows entry and display of feeder
output in selectable engineering units. Alarms are programmable.
Setpoints can be stored.
* Feeder Screws
and approximate Feed Rates
The configuration depends on the requested feed rate and the bulk
material.
Feed rate information
The feed rates stated serve only as a guide. They may deviate
significantly from the values given in the tables depending on
the bulk material used. Accurate feed rates only after a test
with the bulk material. The maximum values stated are based on
a DC motor speed of 2000rpm and a screw filling of 90%. For continuous
operation it is recommended that the speed of the screw should
not drop below 5rpm.
Feed rates when using AC motors
The feed rates may here be roughly estimated through a calculation
using the screw speeds. The standard speed range for a 1500rpm
AC motor is 140 to 2000 rpm. Optionally also AC motors running
at 1000 or 750 rpm are available. Screw speed range upon request.
Available screws
Besides the screws given in the table, the following types are
also available:
AC: 15W/22G/25W/40W/50 AF: 22G/25W/40W/50
SC: 15G/15W/25W/40W/45 SF: 25W/40W/45
G indicates a granulate screw, W indicates a screw with helix
at the feed section. Depending on the grain size of the granules,
an appropriate space between screw and tube is selected.
Feed rates upon request.
