* Application
Gravimetric feeding of free flowing powders and granules. Very hard
to handle powders (e.g. lumpy, moist or bridge building materials)
as well as fibers and flakes may need flow aid options.
The SmartConnex?control system allows individual or a multi-component
control. Interface-modules for computer communication are installed
in the SCM. * Design
Modular twin-shaft feeder with base hopper mounted on a 3-point
weighing system.
A great variety of feeder screws allows accomodation of various
bulk materials. All parts in contact with the
material being fed, are stainless steel.
The modular design allows easy interchange of hopper, agitator,
drive or even another type of feeder.
The modular components are held together by V-clamps. By opening
the V-clamp on the lower hopper end by tool, the feeder will swing
out for easy cleaning.
The horizontal agitator gently moves bulk material to the large
throat and then into the discharge screws. It is removable without
tools. The horizontal agitatorspeed totals 20% of the screw speed.
* Feeder Screws
and approximate Feed Rates
The configuration depends on the requested feed rate and the bulk
material.
Feed rate information
The feed rates stated serve only as a guide. They may deviate
significantly from the values given in the tables depending on
the bulk material used. Accurate feed rates only after a test
with the bulk material. The maximum values stated are based on
a DC motor speed of 2000rpm and a screw filling of 90%. For continuous
operation it is recommended that the speed of the screw should
not drop below 5rpm.
Gravimetric feed rate in kg/h
The feed rates in kg/h can be calculated from the bulk density.
Feed rates when using AC motors
The feed rates may here be roughly estimated through a calculation
using the screw speeds. The standard speed range for a 1500rpm
AC motor is 140 to 2000 rpm. Optionally also AC motors running
at 1000 or 750rpm are available. Screw speed range upon request.
